What is MediaMonke?
MediaMonkey is a free computer program that provides the user with a media manager and player. Developed and distributed by Ventis Media, Inc.; the program provides the user with various application for managing audio files, enabling them to organize albums per category and tag music tracks to include metadata and album art. The program can be set to automatically suggest track and directory file names for instant category assignment for each audio file.
The program also provides the user with an audio CD ripper and audio file converter. Audio CD tracks can be ripped and saved as OGG, MP3, FLAC or WMA files; while the same formats can also be converted into other audio formats supported by the program.
MediaMonkey likewise serves as a media player, allowing the user to listen to audio tracks found on the computer, or tracks downloaded from the Internet through the Podcatcher application of the program.
There is a paid version of the software, MediaMonkey Gold, which has the same functionalities as the free version, with the exception that the Gold version is entitled to receive updates and upgrades as they become available.
MediaMonkey can run on all versions of Windows.
