Maya Application

What is Maya Application?

Maya Application is a complex 3D animation software. It has 3D animation, simulation, modeling, rendering, and compositing software which provides a complex creative feature on an extensible production platform. Maya also offers character and effects toolsets alongside increased productivity for texturing, modeling, and shader creation tasks. Maya is a 3D computer graphics software that can run on Windows, OS X, and Linux. It was originally produced by Alias System Corporation, which was previously known as Alias/Wavefront, and presently owned and developed by Autodesk Inc.

Maya is used to create interactive 3D applications. This includes animated films, video games, TV series, or visual effects. Maya originally started as a next generation animation product which was based after a code from Wavefront’s Advanced Visualizer software, as well as Alias’ PowerAnimator. This code was sent to IRX and eventually included animation features. Autodesk products usually support Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. As of 2011, Maya’s software is 64-bit under Mac OS X. On Linux, the supported distributions are Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora, also in 64-bit. Autodesk has specific system requirements to run Maya with adequate performances.
