Lazarus IDE

If you are looking for Lazarus IDE, you have come to the right place. We explain what Lazarus IDE is and point you to the official download.

What is Lazarus IDE?

The Lazarus IDE is a cross-platform solution for those working on RAD. A lot of the people using the program are designers for professional graphical user interfaces, although it can be used for a variety of other applications, from graphics editors to database applications. One of the biggest advantages of using the Lazarus IDE is in its cross-platform capabilities: any project created with the program is generally cross-platform as well, provided the platforms on which it is to be run have versions of the compiler used with the program. Since its compiler is Free Pascal, just about every commonly available operating system is covered.

Lazarus IDE is a multi-framework program with multiple components. It is also extension friendly, so added functionalities are possible. Users can add plugins to give it multi-database support, for example. It supports drag and drop form design, has code completion, contains utilities for diagnostics and debugging, is open source, and has syntax highlighting. The program also lets the user create binaries that will function independently of their operating environment. It also synchronizes the code in real time with the GUI form of the project.
