Forte Standard is the old name for one of the editions of the Forte notation software. This program allows users to compose and edit musical scores on their computers. This is done with the help of the program’s virtual Music Palette, which lets users compose scores via their keyboards. They can also attach a MIDI keyboard to their systems for step-time recording in case they want the program to take notation as they play their pieces. The software is capable of importing MusicXML and MIDI files; it can also export files in those formats as well as in image formats (like JPEG) if the user desires to keep the score as an image file. Users can also print out their scores straight from the application. Actual audio can be exported into common audio formats like MP3 and WAV.
The software places an emphasis on efficiency in musical composition: this may be seen in its intuitively-designed tabbed interface and several of its automated notation features, such as the automatic insertion of rests between notes. It also supports complex score creation with a maximum of 8 voices and 32 staves, unusual upbeat insertion, and lyric addition.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files Forte Standard can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
