If you are looking for FinalCodecs, you have come to the right place. We explain what FinalCodecs is and point you to the official download.

What is FinalCodecs?

FinalCodecs, also written as Final Codecs, is a suite of codecs developed by Sdxy. The codecs enable the user’s default media player to recognize audio or video formats that are not otherwise supported by the player.

Generally, media players provide support for a selected range of audio and video formats. They may also come with their own set of codecs, already built-in onto the player’s platform. When an audio or video file is loaded by the user, with a format that is not natively supported by the player, the audio or video file in question will not be able to execute. Codecs may prevent such occurrences from happening again. The codecs function as a decoder to enable the media player to run the files.

Some external codec installers will remove previously-installed codecs from the system to prevent conflicts. Users may choose to install certain codecs only provided with the pack, or install the entire codec pack.

FinalCodecs can be downloaded from third-party providers. The codec pack is generally stored in a RAR archive, or a self-extracting EXE archive.
