Files Zipper

What is Files Zipper?

Files Zipper is software that generally allows the user to compress their files and create a zipped archive. A file zipper enables the user to compress files individually or in batches, which are then automatically stored in a ZIP archive. The user may also compress entire folders, which is usually done to free up some space on the system’s memory.

A ZIP archive may contain both compressed files and folders, or just the compressed files or compressed folders. In addition, most file archivers allow for the creation of multi-volume archives, allowing the user to split large volumes of files into several archives. Creating a multi-volume archive is also sometimes referred to as spanning or disk spanning.

Splitting large volumes of files into several archives allows for easier file sharing via email or FTP upload.

Usually, a file zipper is also integrated with a utility for extracting files. This means that with a file zipper, the user may also get a file extractor or archive decompression tool. This allows the user to extract files from a zipped archive, for viewing and editing. Most file zippers are provided for free, and may be compatible with Windows and Mac OS X computers.
