FileOpen WebPublisher Security Plug-in
What is FileOpen WebPublisher Security Plug-in?
FileOpen WebPublisher Security Plug-in is a small app from FileOpen Systems, Inc. that allows users to encrypt documents that will be published over the Web through Adobe Acrobat. It also supports Adobe Acrobat Reader, to enable authorized users to view encrypted Adobe-rendered documents. The plug-in was designed specifically for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader users who need to view files encrypted through the FileOpen digital rights management program.
FileOpen WebPublisher Security Plug-in also enables the user to print the documents, according to the security and access specifications attached by the publisher. Security parameters set by the publisher will determine the control buttons that will be enabled on the document window. The plug-in does not actually provide access to the encrypted documents. Users have to go by the access instructions provided by the publisher, made available through the plug-in.
An optional plug-in, which may be installed through the main plug-in, provides the publisher with a tool for preventing recipients/viewers of the document from taking snapshots/screenshots of the documents.
FileOpen WebPublisher Security Plug-in is free and can be acquired from the publisher’s website.
