File Association Manager

What is File Association Manager?

File Association Manager is a software program from Amnis Technology Ltd. that allows the user to assign file extensions to their appropriate applications. There are instances when an application or program hijacks the file extension of another program, which then prevents the user from opening certain files that should have been associated with the application in question.

To prevent such occurrences from happening again, the user needs to associate the correct file extension to the program specific to it, to enable them to launch tasks such as opening of files, or running a media file in the appropriate player, through their rightful applications. Apart from associating file extensions to their corresponding applications, the user is also able to edit information about the program, as well as assign another icon for the program or app. The user may be provided with additional information on what other programs or apps open through the file extension.

File association programs may also provide the user with advanced options for file type settings like DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange), which is a system for inter-processing communications in Windows; and Attribute Flags.
