If you are looking for Fences, you have come to the right place. We explain what Fences is and point you to the official download.

What is Fences?

Fences is a desktop icon management application that allows users to organize and manage the many icons and images on their computer desktop. By drawing fences around the icons that belong to the same group, project or function, users can clean their main user interface and leave their desktop screens neat and uncluttered. Grouping icons can be based on file types managed such as Video files, music, documents, spreadsheets and computer program icons or according to projects.

Fences is created by Stardock, developer of software enhancements for Microsoft Windows. It is a freeware and works with Windoes XP, Vista and 7. It has a file size of 9.04MB.
The desktop icons can be easily grouped by automatic creation of small windows or manually by using drag-and-drop options. These windows or fenced boxes can be assigned names or labels. With the Fences application, users can quickly and easily access the relevant desktop icons for a current project.

Aside from virtual grouping of icons, Fences can also create user control on how these fenced icons can be accessed. Users can either show or hide them, resize, switch or toggle between the windows or customize them with various color schemes, layout design, labels and so much more.
