Dolby Profile Editor is a surround sound technology intended for PCs. It promises to provide an enhanced sound technology.

There are two products offered by Dolby relative to the Dolby Profile Eidtor namely; Dolby Home Theater v4 and Dolby Advance Aduio v2. The former provides surround sound and enhanced audio while the latter allows users to listen endlessly with the help of the PC built in speakers.

Dolby Home theater v4 include a number of features. First, its Surround Decoder enables conversion of stereo content from 5.1 to 7.1. Second, virtualized surround sound over the PC’s built-in speaker or headphones are produced by the Surround Virtualizer. Third, it has a Dialog Enhancer that improves the content dialogs of all types. Fourth, users can set a volume level consistently by accessing the Volume Leveler. Fifth, to disable a noise or clipping when turning up the volume level, users are provided with Volume Maximizers. Many other features include Intelligent Equalizer, Graphic Equalizer, Audio Optimizer, and Audio Regulator. Last, Dolby Digital Output is provided to allow users encode PC content into S/PDIF or HDMI outputs for more convenient listening.
