What is CubeICE?

CubeICE is a compression and decompression utility with high compression ratio developed by Japanese Software company Cube Soft. The software supports 20 types of different file formats and can be obtained easily as this is a freeware. Using this utility can be learned using the video manual found on its website. It also has tutorials and Getting Started packet that provide step-by-step guide on how download and use the tool.

CubeICE can also work with other compression and decompression software such as 7z, RAR, and Zip. Extracting files from CubeICE compressed zip can be done manually or can be prompted by the user by setting it up. When installed, it creates a short-cut and a folder automatically on the desktop so that the user can locate it easily. The software has been enhanced so codecs need not to be installed separately. It also does not interfere with other programs pre-installed on the computer.

The installation may execute the file Desktop.ini when compressed files are extracted. It is also advised that users check the settings before decompressing for the first time. It is compatible with Windows OS of versions from 2000 and above and makes use of 64bit.
