Corel WordPerfect SGML Layout Designer is an application that is included in the software for Corel WordPerfect Suite. The software Corel WordPerfect SGML needs to be installed in order to use the SGML programs. Typically, there are two SGML programs included in the suite: Corel WordPerfect DTD Compiler and Corel WordPerfect SGML Layout Designer. In the Pro version of the suite, a third SGML program is included, the Corel Visual DTD.
Corel WordPerfect SGML can be selected from the Corel WordPerfect Suite installer, during the installation process. It can also be installed at a later time, after the WordPerfect suite has been installed.
The Layout Designer program allows the user to customize the layout for their SGML document. This means that they can add bullet points, italicize texts, and add columns and graphs. The program includes the following tools: Element Layout, Format, Line, Paragraph, Display, Insert, and Hierarchy.
The user can incorporate two different layouts in a single document. The user basically creates layout rules saved as an LSI (.lsi) file, which stands for Layout Specification Instance. These rules can be applied to any SGML document created through Corel WordPerfect.
