What is Command & Conquer Generals?

Command & Conquer: Generals is an installment to the RTS [real-time strategy] video game series Command & Conquer. It uses SAGE [Strategy Action Game Engine]. It is a future setting that offers three factions for players to choose from. China and the United States are the world superpowers in the game. They are targets of terrorist known as GLA [Global Liberation Army]. You must build a base, various support and combat units, obtain resources, and defeat your enemies. Unit types include infantry, air units and vehicles. You may control the GLA, the People’s Republic of China or the United States of America.

You are encouraged to mix different types of units as tactic to win. As you play and defeat enemy units, you gain experience points that you can use to buy General Abilities such as enhancements, unlocking new units, air strikes, one time enhancements to units, spawn points or targetable points to create unit groups. You can play as a single player or in multiplayer mode. It is available for Windows and Mac OS. It features World Builder for Windows only that functions as a map editor. It provides terraforming tool, intelligent road system that can detect when you want an intersection, a tool for scattering flora around your map, area triggers and waypoints and a script system for single player missions.
