The Camtasia Menu Maker is one of the post-processing tools of the Camtasia Studio, which allows for the limited creation of DVD menus (and other related media) to the finished screencast product.
Camtasia Studio (and the Camtasia for Mac) is a screencast software, or an application used to record the computer screen. A screencasting software should not be confused with a screenshot application, which is essentially a still image of a computer screen as it appears at a certain point in time. A screencasting program allows for full video to be recorded as the user manipulates their computer, which may or may not use audio or enhanced with audio narration.
In Camtasia Studio, the user first defines the area of the screen that they would like to capture; this is an exercise that must be set before the recording happens. Camtasia Studio and Camtasia for Mac both allow audio to be recorded concurrently, either from a microphone or speaker, and they can also place a video feed from another video source, for example a webcam, on the video itself. Camtasia Studio also provides various post-processing tools, with the ability to cut, paste, and trim the video as necessary, plus add audio like music, narration, or other sound effects (some of which are included in the software package).
Critical reception for Camtasia Studio has been fairly positive, although some complain that it uses up too much resources compared to its contemporaries and competitors.
