What is Draw?

BrOffice Draw was the old name for a program found in LibreOffice. Draw is the program representing LibreOffice’s graphics editing and authoring component. The software can be found in bundles like the NeoOffice and OpenOffice core packages. It is classed as a vector graphics program and was originally designed with the intention of producing a diagramming utility to support the other (generally business-related) LibreOffice tools. As such, its features are geared towards creating graphics such as flowcharts, graphs, diagrams, concept maps and other presentation visuals for professionals seeking to communicate industrial concepts or data.

The program’s maximum canvas size per project is 300x300cm. It also features support for 3D elements in the graphics, besides allowing users to manipulate elements individually as well as in manually defined groups. Importing images from files such as PDFs is supported, although SVG files are not compatible with this function. CDR image files (files created using Corel’s vector graphics software, CorelDraw) cannot be opened with the program either. Most other presentation and image formats are compatible with it, on the other hand, and users can also make use of the software to convert image files into other formats.
