Arcsoft Connect is a free utility bundled with any of the Arcsoft multimedia products, which is most apparent when installing an Arcsoft multimedia suite. The Arcsoft Connect is more of a service than an outright program, and what it does is simple – it basically connects your computer with the Arcsoft servers and checks them periodically if any updates for Arcsoft components or applications installed on your system are available. If there are updates available, Arcsoft Connect can be configured to automatically download and install them, and patch the update to the appropriate program. This allows the user to enjoy Arcsoft products at its most updated form, which are generally released to fix bugs and other errors that could crop up during the programs’ operation.
Like most update services, experts advise that Arcsoft Connect be either turned off, meaning that it does not automatically connect to a server and find an update, or download and install them without your knowledge. This is because such an activity diverts precious bandwidth to the process, which would slow down or greatly affect the performance of your Internet activities or your computer, and even both. If this is not possible, you can put your firewall to block the service’s access to the Internet unless you need it.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files ArcSoft Connect can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
