The Adobe Creative Suite is a set of multimedia editing and web development tools created by Adobe and based from Macromedia's Studio suite. When Adobe acquired Macromedia, they rebranded the Studio suite as the Creative Suite.
The Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection is a bundle of the Adobe Creative Suite programs neatly tucked into one full-featured package, containing all of Adobe's multimedia Creative Suite brand applications (such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects). The Creative Suite Master Collection has several advantages over a piecemeal purchase of each of the Creative Suite applications, including a reenginered software architecture so each of the programs work seamlessly with each other, a much lower price (compared to totaling the applications' prices) and a native support for 64-bit operating systems plus GPU hardware acceleration. Adobe makes the Creative Suite Master Collection both as an upgrade (which is cheaper) and a stand-alone product, and also as a cloud-based subscription service.
The Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection contains Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat X Pro, Flash Professional, Flash Builder Premium Edition, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition, SpeedGrade, Prelude, Encore, Bridge, and Media Encoder. It also integrates with Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite.
