Adobe Synchronizer is an application that installs with Adobe Reader 8 and Adobe Acrobat 8. It operates on your computer system’s background to maintain accuracy of files being accessed by multiple users. It performs communication between local computer stations and networks. When you access a network file on local computer, Synchronizer will make a copy of that file. When changes are applied to the file on the server, Synchronizer will apply changes automatically to the local copy so that you can have the updated version.
Adobe Synchronizer operation on Mac OS X systems is known as AdobeResourceSynchronizer. On Windows platform, it is known as AdobeCollabSync.exe. The default storage of the data on Mac is ~/Library/Acrobat User Data/8.o_
If the data is accessed by more than one user on the network, chances are several different changes will be applied to the same file and might not save properly. Synchronizer will ensure that the changes made will be saved correctly, and the latest version of the file will be available to every user so that no user will lose or overwrite any data.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files Adobe Acrobat Synchronizer can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
