ACDSee Classic is a computer program enabled to run on Windows and Mac OS X machines. The software serves as an image viewer and browser, allowing for quick access to image files stored on the computer.
The user interface provides the user with a preview window, which is located on the bottom left corner of the main window; and a thumbnail browser, which is on the right half side of the main window. The user can also open images in full view, which will then display the file on the main viewing window.
The program is able to display images in high resolution, and recognizes more than fifteen image file formats, which include PCX, JPEG, GIF and TIFF. The software also allows the user to organize their image and graphics files, enabling them to add a short description of each file. This in turn allows them to easily find the images that they wish to view.
ACDSee Classic is software designed and developed by ACD Systems, a US-based company that specializes in digital imaging. The company also has presence in Canada.
