The Autodesk 123D Make software is one of the utilities in Autodesk’s lineup of free 3D modeling applications. The other programs in the lineup are 123D Catch, 123D Creature, 123D Design and 123D Sculpt. As for 123D Make, it is specifically for the conversion of virtual 3D models into cut patterns. These patterns can be printed out piecemeal, with the application providing animated instructions for the user to follow in assembling the pattern elements and creating the actual 3D replica as visualized or planned on-screen.
The program can preview all finished designs in a variety of materials (although users often choose to see the cardboard material preview, since it is the most popular actual material choice in assembly) and also has the ability to deliver slice views of the object. Plans can be saved in a variety of formats, including PDF and EPS. It works with both Mac and PC systems, and is also usable on the iPad as well as the iPhone. Lighter, quicker projects can be created quickly using the online app, for those who do not want to download the program itself.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files 123D Make can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
