What is a WPS file?
WPS files have multiple uses, and Microsoft Works Document is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Microsoft Works Document
WPS files are most commonly associated with the Microsoft Works word processing application.
Unlike Microsoft Word documents, WPS documents that have been created by Microsoft Works do not have advanced formatting options, and they do not usually contain macros.
The WPS format has not been used by Microsoft since 2006, since the .doc format was found to be more practical and more versatile.
