GHO File

What are GHO files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a GHO file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your GHO files.

What is a GHO file?

A .GHO file is a Norton Ghost Image file.

These GHO files contain "snapshots" of a user's hard drive. You use the Norton Ghost application to save an exact copy of your drive into the GHO file format.

This GHO file can then be used to restore the hard drive or individual files that were on the hard drive if the hard drive or the data on the drive becomes lost or corrupt.

If you do not want a replica of your computer contents accessible in an unlocked file, you can encrypt the GHO files for added security. If the disk image is large, it may span over multiple files.

The first file in the image uses file extension GHO, and the following part files use extension GHS.
