COMSOL Multiphysics

If you are looking for COMSOL Multiphysics, you have come to the right place. We explain what COMSOL Multiphysics is and point you to the official download.

What is COMSOL Multiphysics?

COMSOL Multiphysics is a physics-based simulator and modeler. At its heart, it can create precise simulations for Multiphysics applications. The real specificity of the program’s capabilities is derived from the modules that can be added to the primary software.

Modules are grouped into key categories: for example, the Electrical module category includes an add-on for AC/DC applications of the program, as well as modules for RF, Wave Optics, MEMS, Plasma, and Semiconductor applications.

There are also module categories for Mechanical applications (Heat Transfer, Structural Mechanics, Geomechanics, etc.), for Fluid applications (CFD, Mixer, Pipe Flow, Subsurface Flow, etc.), and Chemical applications (Corrosion, Electrodeposition, Chemical Reaction Engineering, etc.). Furthermore, there are categories for multipurpose application modules as well as Interfacing modules that make the program interoperable with other commonly used programs in the field, like CAD and MATLAB. There are also interfacing add-ons for Excel, SolidWorks and Solid Edge.

There is no limit to the number of modules users can combine with the main software—which is needed for any of the modules to be usable. The program is capable of working on Linux, Windows, and Mac systems.
