What is a WKS file?
The .wks file extension is most commonly associated with the Microsoft Works spreadsheet software application. The WKS files are spreadsheet files that contain data that is organized into columns and rows. MS Works is similar to MS Office, but the Works applications are more streamlined and do not offer as many features as the Office products.
The .wks file extension is also used for Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet files, Xlisp WorKSpace files and DeskMate worksheet files.
