What is a VI file (a file with file extension VI)?
Files that contain the .vi file extension are most commonly associated with the LabVIEW scientific software.
LabVIEW is used for scientific measurements and testing. The VI files that are used by this software contain "instrument" files which represent the use of a physical instrument in a measurement and testing application.
The .vi file extension is also used by the Jovian Logic VI software application. These VI files contain the image files that are created by the software.
The Watcom VI software has also been associated with the .vi file suffix. These VI files contain script files that have been created with Watcom VI.
The FreeFlow software also uses the .vi file extension for the project files that are created with the program.
