What is a RFC822 file (a file with file extension RFC822)?
Files that are saved with the .rfc822 file extension normally contain saved copies of email files that have been sent and received by the associated email application.
The RFC822 file format is similar to the EML file format, but these files are saved with the .rfc822 extension instead of the standard .eml file suffix.
The RFC822 files allow a user to migrate their email files from one computer to another without loss of email data. These files also allow a user to access the emails that have been sent and received via a POP3 email program without the need for an Internet connection.
