What is a MP2 file (a file with file extension MP2)?
Files that contain the .mp2 file extension are most commonly associated with audio files that have been saved in the MPEG-1 Layer II file format. These files are compressed audio files that allow users to save disk space when they are downloading audio files from the Web. The MP2 file format is, for the most part, outdated and has been widely replaced by the MP3 file format.
The .mp2 file extension is also used by the Masterpoint Bridge card game application. These MP2 files contain the game scores of the players that are playing the Masterpoint Bridge game on their computers.
