What are CDX files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a CDX file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CDX files.

What is a CDX file?

CDX files have multiple uses, and CorelDRAW Compressed Image is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

CorelDRAW Compressed Image File

Files that contain the .cdx file extension are most commonly associated with the CorelDRAW graphics editing application. CDX files are compressed CDR drawing files.

When the CorelDRAW application is used to create a computer drawing, the file is saved in the CDR file format.

When the CDR file is compressed, it is given the .cdx file extension. This makes it easier for users to email CorelDRAW image files and transmit them via the Web.
