What is a BTSEARCH file (a file with file extension BTSEARCH)?
Files that contain the .btsearch file extension are most commonly used by the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing applications. The BTSEARCH files control how the BitTorrent client searches for a torrent on a particular P2P search engine. This allows the search engines, such as Google, to be added to a user's built-in torrent search bar and allows users to search for torrents using popular search engines rather than just the P2P networks themselves.
The BTSEARCH files contain the name, URL and description of the search engine that is being added, all in an XML file format. Users are able to create custom searches using the functions offered by the BTSEARCH file format.
