What is an AAA file?

The .aaa file extension is used for a temporary file format that was created by Cybase, Inc. Also known as Sybase SQL Anywhere temporary files, these AAA files are generated and internally used by the SQL Anywhere program, which was also developed by Cybase, Inc. These .aaa files are created by the SQL Anywhere software during its standard operations. The AAA file format was created to store program-related data as temporary files that may be required by the SQL Anywhere software from time to time. These .aaa files are discarded by the SQL Anywhere software after its associated operations have been successfully completed. The SQL Anywhere program was developed as an application programming environment in Microsoft Windows platforms, Mac OS X computers and Linux machines. This software is used to create database-powered tools and applications. These .aaa files are recommended to be left alone because the SQL Anywhere software may need to use these internally. Doing so will ensure that the SQL Anywhere software and the associated database-powered application development project will continue to work properly. There are no other known programs that can open these .aaa files except the SQL Anywhere software.
