Are you having problems opening an UIF file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your UIF files.

What is an UIF file?

UIF stands for Universal Image Format. UIF files are compressed image files that are used for CD and DVD disc backups. These backups can contain any type of computer data including document files, pictures, movies, audio files and more. If a user creates a UIF file and the information on a disc or drive becomes corrupt, the UIF file can be used to restore the information.

The UIF file format allows for password protection of a user's computer data, data encryption and checksum values. UIF files are commonly created by the MagicISO software application. MagicISO can only be run on Windows operating systems.
