What are PROFILE files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a PROFILE file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your PROFILE files.

What is a PROFILE file?

The .profile file extension is most commonly used for Bash shell profile files. These files store saved shell profiles that are used by Bash in the Mac OS X environment.

The .profile file extension is also used for the Star Wars Battlefront 2 computer gaming application. These PROFILE files store saved game profiles that a player can use to return to a saved game.

How to open PROFILE files

Important: Different programs may use files with the PROFILE file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your PROFILE file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
